Russ has been interested in art most of his life and has produced works in oil, watercolor and etching since early childhood. Some of the works in his upcoming exhibit are from that early period. He has produced commercial art for government agencies, trade associations and businesses. Most works, all in oil are recent, created during his retirement from a career in banking. He is a member of the Friends of the Yellow Barn and an active participant in the gallery. While his preference is for portrait and figurative studies he has also produced landscapes on a large scale that reflect the subtleties of his preferred palette.
